Look up and pull your lower eyelid down, slide the lens down to the white of your eye with a free finger and pinch the lens between your fingers to remove it. If wearing daily contact lenses discard the lens, for all other lenses, place them inside your contact lens case filled with fresh solution.

It is generally recommended not to wear your contact lenses for more than 10-12 hours a day. You should never sleep in contact lenses unless your specific lenses allow this. Your optometrist will be best suited to advise you on how long to wear your contacts for, based on your eyes and type of lenses you require. Wearing contact lenses for too long may cause irritation in the eye, so it is always advised to give your eyes a break.

Wearing contact lenses over glasses comes down to personal preference and your individual eye health. If you suffer from dry or sensitive eyes, contact lenses can sometime exacerbate the problem.
